The Department of Botany is one among the premium academic Departments of the RNT Govt. College Sarkaghat. The Department came into existence in the year 1989 with Graduate Course in Botany. The courses offered by the Department are affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University Shimla (H.P.). Department has implemented the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for grading B.Sc. students. All these years, the Department has taken strenuous efforts in nurturing and empowering students in achieving their academic goals so as to make students understand ever changing concepts in the field and facilitate specialization in the front line areas for respective opportunities. Department has two dedicated full-time faculty members having specializations in Ethnobotany, Mycology, and Plant Pathology. The Laboratory is well equipped with major instruments viz. Autoclave, Incubator, pH Meter, Centrifuge, Hot Plate, Oven, Spectrophotometer, Magnetic stirrer with hot plates, electrophoresis apparatus, Electronic Balance, Computer attached binocular research microscope with a digital camera, Compound Microscopes, Dissecting Microscopes, etc.

LAB
